First up on the podium for Me, My Square & I is Adam!
Before we start, we'd like to personally welcome Adam to the Square Society admin team! Adam has shown that he is a real top Square Society supporter considering he has only been in the square scene for a very short amount of time. Adam is a very active poster within our community and has a very keen eye to detail when taking photos and is one of the main reasons to why we've offered him a position on the Square Society admin panel and, whilst being an admin, he is now the club's official photographer!
Now with that out of the way, we can finally find out what makes Adam & his square tick!

INTRODUCE YOURSELF
Hi I’m Adam I’m 33 and live in Southampton, I’m the person behind Geared_Up_Photography, I also work on construction sites currently as an assistant site manager, self-employed with kier looking to get with a permanent company in the same role.
My hobbies are modified cars and photography, (and, as you can tell) I enjoy going to car shows and trying to capture photos of cars while thinking outside the box as much as possible which most times is easier said than done.
You can find all my captures on the Geared_Up_Photography Facebook Page & Instagram
You can also catch me on Instagram under the name @jp_caddy which is the other page for my caddy (I'm a big VW fan!)
I first got into cars and when I was a kid and I use to go out in my brother's car, a Peugeot 205 gti, which didn’t live long (he put it through a caravan). I got more into cars when I started driving, Guy and I hung out and I joined in with Hampshire lowlifes, a local car club Guy started. I started modifying my VW caddy maxi and bought my Daihatsu Materia as a daily. I've had a few cars over the years that I've been driving for, I've owned a; Fiat Seciento, Ford Fiesta (x2), Vauxhall Corsa B, Peugeot 206 (x2), Fiat Brava, Rover 25, Vauxhall Astra H, Fiat Panda, Vauxhall Astra H Van, VW Caddy Maxi & Daihatsu Materia.
WHAT SQUARE DO YOU OWN?
Here is my 0000 Daihatsu Materia, his name is Borris but he identifies as a microwave (he’s brilliant nippy little square car!). He's a 1.5 petrol, manual, 102bhp (according to Parkers), he is also fairly standard (I've only removed the middle and back box and fitted a twin exit tip because I like the bosozuku style look it’s very loud and it pops)
What got me into square cars is my mate Guy once had a Nissan Cube Impul and that was so cool! He then got a materia before me and brought me to a Square Society Breakfast And Boxes meet, and that's where I found the world of square cars and completely fell in love! I bought my square car because I loved Guy's and I was sick and tired of driving the fiesta where it was so slow. I love the colour especially In The sun.
WHAT MODS HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR SQUARE?
I have fitted chasing underglow and some cool lenso wheels to it. I will be putting lowering springs on it soon. I have a great big samurai sword for a gear stick, and I have made a Japanese style wave pattern gator and surround for my touch screen stereo. Fitted a sub in the boot and I have random stickers on the back window which some are just jokes, one of them is a sticker of the Mr. Bean meme (feel free to ask either myself or Guy about it). I have also wrapped a few bits gloss black outside and fitted wind deflectors. I have recently (because of winter) under sealed it and also fitted new front brakes, I will be changing the rears just to keep them fresh. And there’s a couple other modifications in the pipeline as and when I get round to them.
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 SONGS TO LISTEN TO IN YOUR SQUARE?
Choosing a top 3 is very hard but I'd never thought it would be this hard! As I have to choose 3, I think I'll go with these 3 as my top 3 songs that I enjoy listening to:
Teddy swimms - my bad
Luude and Mattafix - big city life
Venbee - messy in heaven
Anything Eminem
Anything by notorious B.I.G
IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, THEN WHAT WOULD YOUR TOP 5 DREAM CARS BE?
VW split screen multi window from back in the 70s or older in teal and white.
Mazda rx7 with the rotary engine
Ford GT40 in the gulf livery
Pagani Zonda F or R
And I'm not sure what I would pick as my 5th dream car, there's simply too many to choose from
ANY Honourable MENTIONS OR SHOUTOUTS?
I would like personally thank my two best mates Guy and Lauren for all the help, support and fun with having my Materia and the help with modifications on both my Materia and my caddy. I'd also like to thank my other half for the support and help and a special mention to KB autos, a local garage to me for helping with sorting parts for its mot.
That's me done folks, hope to catch you all at something soon in the near future!
